Tornado 1 With Membrane-Drying Unit

Dental compressed air for the highest requirements

Dental compressed air must be hygienic. The moisture content must therefore be reduced to a minimum and any contamination caused by oil or solid particles must be completely prevented. Any such contamination would have a negative effect on the durability of high-quality preparations and the function of delicate instruments. In addition, the hygiene and sterility requirements of the patient must be met.

The membrane-drying unit on the compressor prevents a moist environment, which would provide the ideal breeding ground for organisms. As well as ensuring dryness at all times, it provides constant availability with no regeneration time. The low pressure dew point ensures the impeccable, taste- and odour-free supply of compressed air.

Really powerful, extremely quiet

The Tornado is one of the quietest compressors in dentistry, yet it is still very powerful. The highly developed compressor set is extremely quiet, and can have a calming effect on both patient and practitioner.

Robust and long-lived – designed for continuous operation

When choosing a compressor, reliability is the most important consideration. In the Tornado, all important functions are combined in a multifunctional mono-block cylinder. Thanks to the central intake filter in its closed crankcase, dirt particles are prevented from entering the compressor unit. This makes the Tornado more reliable and extremely long-lived.

Economical and efficient

For decades now already the Tornado compressor series has stood for high quality at a great price. For the new generation of compressors, cost-effectiveness has been increased even further and their energy consumption has been reduced by approx. 15 %. So you save on costs whilst protecting the environment!

Constant full-power availability thanks to membrane-drying unit

The Tornado is equipped with the innovative Dürr Dental membrane-drying unit and has an unbeatable advantage : Constant power availability. Because the drying process is based on diffusion through layers of membrane fibres, the regeneration step required when using traditional drying procedures is superfluous. The membrane-drying unit generates dry compressed air with a pressure dew point of ≤ 5°C constantly at an ambient temperature of 40°C. This prevents condensate forming in the line system in normal conditions.

Since the membrane-drying unit prevents moistness, microorganisms have no breeding ground. The compressors are equipped with fine filters in order to remove even really small particles from the air. The annual replacement of the filter is the only maintenance measure required – otherwise, the drying unit is maintenance-free. An optional sterile filter is also available for further protection against contamination by microorganisms.

To sum up: Unlike traditional drying procedures for dentistry, the pressure dew point at 40°C is a constant ≤ 5°C. This means that there is no risk of condensed water building up in the tank and pressure lines.
